What is the process to make a marriage official?

In New Hampshire, you will need to obtain a marriage license within 90 days of the wedding. There is no mandatory waiting period. This means that the couple does not have to wait after receiving the license before a ceremony can legally be performed. Depending on what state you’re in, these wedding laws may vary, so be sure to do your research or consult your officiant. 

Once you’ve obtained your marriage license, that’s where we come in. Christine will need to have the license in hand prior to your wedding day. After your ceremony, she will sign off on the license and return it to the office of the city clerk. They will process it through the state system and you should be able to obtain your marriage certificate in 10-20 days after your wedding. Can you take care of the Marriage License for us? If not, how and when do we pick it up?

Unfortunately, we cannot purchase your Marriage License for you. You need to apply for it in person at the office of the city clerk. Both parties will need to be present. The cost of the license packet is about $50. However, there may be other requirements which vary from county-to-county. You should always do your homework to avoid unpleasant surprises.
